I will never forget my first experience of talking with a foreigner. It was still vivid and fresh in my mind though almost two years have passed.

It was a Sunday evening, I went to aunt's home. On my way there near the bus station, I found a foreigner with a lot of people around him. With curiosity I came nearer to have a look. The foreigner was tall and a little fat, he was speaking and making all kinds of gestures. Because no one could understand him, he was very worried.

My English was so-so, of course I had never spoken to a foreigner. In fact, I  wanted to speak to him very much , but I was afraid. I wondered if we could understand each other. I hesitated for a few minutes and at last I plucked up my courage to speak to him, “Can I help you, sir ?” I said in a low voice.“Thank you, ” he said happily “Can you tell me the way to Qing Dao Company ?” “OK.” I  said . “But it's a bit far, so you have to take a taxi.”

I though it was a good chance to practise my spoken English. So I decided to go to the company with him. In the taxi I tried to speak to him in English and listened to him carefully. To my surprise, I could almost catch what he said. From that I knew he was from England. He was a businessman. He had read from a magazine and known that Qing Dao Company was famous for its chinas, he liked them very much. So he decided to get some chinas. While we were talking, the taxi got to Qing Dao Company. We got off and he paid the driver. I took him into the company's gate. He thanked me again. We said “Good-bye”to each other, then I left the company.

When I got home, it was very late, but I didn't mind. I told my parents the whole story, they were very happy and praised me. That night I had a good dream. In the dream I went to America and could speak English very well. How excited I was!

I thought it was an unforgettable episode in my life. Do you think so?
